Yes, that’s what you have to do: remember it’s a hobby. As for how I got over it, it is just as I wrote in the post: break and time. Building up energy works for me. I also get the urge to blog again if I haven’t done it for a while.
(regarding popularity, that IS true and I still wonder till this day why I have that)
