I actually liked another, I was on the edge the whole time, but what I hate is that the phenomenon was never truly explained. and the middle school students murdering each other, I don't know, it's terribly out of place, Misaki and Akazawa are good fap material though...
And SAO... Listen to me as an experienced MMO player, no solo player has succeeded in an MMO. NO ONE. And the final fight against heathcliffe? Srsly? You're supposed to be dead, and we're talking about a cold calculating computer program here, but you overpowered it through sheer willpower/power of love? If that's true then slamming my PC would've fixed alot of problems. As if that dying in online games hasn't been done by ./hack already. Sachi's death left no emotional impact, and Asuna's reaction to why Kirito chose to be a solo player was just over the top.

What surprised me most about this season is that the animation styles are so diverse compared to previous seasons. You have of course the style of Aku no Hana that is becoming famous for its fugliness but on the other hand completely boosts the atmosphere of the story. Attack on Titan also has a style that feels more mature than the standard moe-inspired style of the last year or so which affected waaaaaaay too many series. Ararta Kangatari has a different style as well combining both the realism of Attack on Titan and the fantastical element of Suisei no Gargantia and really brings out why the artwork of Watase Yu is in my opinion the most beautiful there is.

To be honest I was turned off it at first, but it just felt normal after a couple of episodes.
Now I think it actually contibutes to the strangeness and claustrophobia within the show. It's sort of... blunt, but I don't mind it really.

More than half with 5/10 ratings and below, meh season indeed. Most of the better anime were the 20+ ones from Fall, like Shinsekai Yori and Sakurasou. An extremely mediocre season indeed, I didn't watch much of the Winter season anyway, lol.

Nice post. I'm also enjoying the hell out of Airua, Atack on Titan and most particularly, Hatakaru!

I didn't know what to make of Aku No Hana at first because it came from so far out of left field but i'm at episode 4 now it's extremely addicting (in a completely terrifying way).

I dropped Hentai Ouji to Warawanai Neko after 2 eps though. I can see that there are some things to like, but none of the characters really spoke to me at all. It's not a totally bad show though.

Wow, that was a long comment. I'm amazed you could write that much! o_o

One thing I can comment on is that I really like the music in AO. It may be different (less techno and more violins), but it's pretty great. Not always used that well, however, but that's another thing. :)
