My reactions.
The first season of Ore no Imouto ga Konnani Kawaii Wake ga Nai, or OreImo for short, was alright. The second season was also fine, but felt a bit unfocused at times.
Then came the “true ending” in form of special episodes and completely turned everything we knew into a pathetic and hideous mess. In three episodes, the OreImo 2 specials manage shit all over the whole series.

With the new anime season recently having started, I figured it was time to look back at what aired during summer.
One thing that struck me as this season ended was how many episode finales surprised me both positively and negatively. Nearly every finale made me react in one way or another I usually do not do.

Lesson learned: never do early anime impressions. The tides can turn at any given moment and basing your thoughts on only one or two episodes will most likely not reflect the overall series (even if there are exceptions as always).
Never before have I been this disappointed in the outcome of an anime season since I properly started following the airing anime seasons back in fall 2010. Attack on Titan, Suisei no Gargantia and Hataraku Maou-sama!. These three all had magnificent starting episodes that made me excited about what was to come. It took me a while to decide, but I have now settled down with the anime I will watch this season. After previously having watched a whopping 20 series at the same time, with most of them turning out to be average at best, it feels nice to end up with a handful of series that instead are superb. This may change over time, naturally, but right now the spring 2013 anime season has been full of surprises!
Who thought a Devil King working at a fast-food chain would end up hilarious? Or what about Attack on Titan managing to live up to its expectations? And let us not forget the massive hatred towards the anime adaptation of Aku no Hana!
