My Favorite Anime of 2014

It has been quite a while since a post appeared on the blog, hasn’t it? Hopefully there are still some readers out there eager for some more stuff! Feeling a bit stiff when it comes to writing, I figured the best way to get it all started is to revisit my favorite anime of 2014! After this, I hope to slowly return to form.

Truth is, I haven’t seen a lot of anime lately. We’re a few months into the new year and I have only seen two new series, which is a new record for me. Instead, the time has been spent watching older, completed, anime whenever the urge has kicked in. As a result, it has made me feel rather distant to the anime community.

When it comes to the year 2014 in anime, my stance is that it has been a fine year.

12 Days of Christmas 2014 #02 – Yama no Susume 2 and a Dream to Climb Mount Fuji

Climbing, hiking and camping. These are all things I have not really done outside of more casual occasions, yet those times live on as warm memories inside of me. Despite being years ago since I last did any of these, my fondness remains the same as if it was yesterday. If possible, I would like to give them a try again – especially in the case of climbing or hiking.

The Best Anime of 2013

2013 has been a strange year of anime for me. For starters, there are only ten anime series that I feel genuinely soft for and out of those four happen to be leftovers from the previous year.

In addition, almost all of the anime on this list has one thing in common: they are “light and fluffy”. They could be labelled as “slice of life” and are generally heartwarming. Relaxing, happy and fun.

If you have been following the currently airing anime seasons these past few years you may have noticed that since roughly a year ago there has been an increase in a new type of anime: the three-minute anime series. Or, if we are lucky, they may even be five minutes!

Winter 2013 Anime Mini Reviews – A Season Full of Meh and GJ-bu

I will be trying out a new and shorter format for my future seasonal posts, so it would be nice if you could tell if you like it or not. The reason for this is that I do not want to spend hours writing them. Because even if I love doing these posts, the time it takes to write them could be spent on more fun things such as editorials!

As for the season itself, it turned out rather bad. Well, to be perfectly honest, it is to be expected when one watches over 20 series! There were a few good ones, but ironically they were the ones I did not have much expectations of in the first place!

Winter 2013 Anime Impressions – I Watch Too Much Anime

No more anime, please.

As a way to get into the groove of blogging we will now take a look at the winter anime season.

I find it funny that I in the preview post said I would not end up watching a lot and instead spend my time plowing through my anime backlog. By now I should know that I will never be able to not pick up one or two more series than initially planned, but considering how calm this season has been… it baffles me that I picked up so much. Very surprising indeed.

Winter 2013 Anime Previews – A Calm Season

After a great 2012 it seems that we will have a slow start to the 2013 anime year. While there are some interesting series starting, as always, there is nothing “big” this season. The new year will start with a whimper, huh?

Personally, I will use this season to watch older series I have missed.
