Do you remember my old post back in March 2012 on how I raised the question whether or not funding platforms were a possible future for anime? Prayers have been heard and anime has finally found its way onto Kickstarter.
Called Kick-Heart, it is a short animated film about a pair of pro-wrestlers which will be directed by Masaaki Yuasa (Mind Game, Kaiba) and animated by Production I.G (Ghost in the Shell, Guilty Crown). Not only could this be a piece of interesting animation in itself, but more importantly, this could be the start of a new era in the anime industry.
Woah woah woah, I actually made it to the third round in the Aniblog Tourney. That is, what I would call, quite a feat. A rather big feat too, to be frank, considering that I am new in the anime blogosphere, only reaching six months around last month. Words are not necessary. Please, just watch this if you have not. It is a short masterpiece I came in contact with this year. It has stunning visuals, beautiful music and only twelve minutes without anyone speaking. And it also has one of the most interesting yet sad stories I have seen. It even won an Oscar in the category “Best Animated Short Film” year 2009.
