Spring 2013 Anime Early Impressions – Surprises Everywhere

AiuraCrabNewsNetwork

It took me a while to decide, but I have now settled down with the anime I will watch this season. After previously having watched a whopping 20 series at the same time, with most of them turning out to be average at best, it feels nice to end up with a handful of series that instead are superb. This may change over time, naturally, but right now the spring 2013 anime season has been full of surprises!

Who thought a Devil King working at a fast-food chain would end up hilarious? Or what about Attack on Titan managing to live up to its expectations? And let us not forget the massive hatred towards the anime adaptation of Aku no Hana!

Certainly I cannot be the only surprised one, can I? Continue reading

GJ-bu is the Best Anime of the Season

GJbu2

Currently I am watching too much anime, so I did the most rational thing to do and picked up yet another series.

Turned out that GJ-bu actually is the best anime of the season. Continue reading

Winter 2013 Anime Impressions – I Watch Too Much Anime

No more anime, please.

No more anime, please.

As a way to get into the groove of blogging we will now take a look at the winter anime season.

I find it funny that I in the preview post said I would not end up watching a lot and instead spend my time plowing through my anime backlog. By now I should know that I will never be able to not pick up one or two more series than initially planned, but considering how calm this season has been… it baffles me that I picked up so much. Very surprising indeed.

Do you readers also usually end up watching more than planned? Continue reading

Fall 2012 Impressions – “Lacklustre” is the Word

An obligatory, if late, Halloween anime picture. In this case, the group of girls from Hidamari Sketch.

What first seemed to be an exciting anime season turned out to be a fairly lacklustre one. So far even the best series have yet to bring out any “wham” episode. While it may be sort of early into the season, there is no excuse for any of the series to not have some kind of hook that grabs me. Sure, I am interested in them, but I would not call myself excited.

How do you feel about the fall 2012 anime season?

Spring 2012 Impressions – Halfway There

I know, right?

With school soon over, there will be plenty of time for good weekly scheduling for blog posts. As the situation stands today, I cannot say I am very proud over the results, with tons of posts one month and barely any in another. The following summer will be a lot of fun in return, I can assure you!

But now, it is time for my impressions of the spring 2012 season! Hope you enjoy it! Continue reading

12 Days of Christmas 2011 – #09 – Over Drive and ABC of Love

Over Drive should be boring. A sports anime about… cycling? There should be no way for it to be exciting, but yet it is. In fact, I would dare to say that anime about slower sports have the ability to actually be better than faster paced ones, such as football. Since they are so slow and tactical, every moment counts and the key moments are more exciting due to them being so few. But of course, this is just me and it cannot be applied to everything. Fall 2011 Impressions

Halloween is upon us and so are the fall 2011 impressions. So far, it has been a rather lacklustre season, with the big meat named Guilty Crown failing to live up to its initial expectations. At least it seems that we have a few unexpected shows that are starting to leave bigger impressions on me with each episode. If you want to find out my thoughts, read on! Continue reading
