12 Days of Christmas 2012 #04 – Madhouse Delivers the Best Fights in Hunter x Hunter

HunterxHunter3

Madhouse also delivers the best faces.

One minute.

One whole minute of flawlessly executed anime fighting.

One wonderful minute of holding my breath in pure awe.

This marks the moment when Hunter x Hunter (2011) started doing The Right Things™

When it comes to the fights in Hunter x Hunter (2011) (the few ones there are), or any important moment for that matter, Madhouse has always flexed its muscles and provided some of the most well-made scenes of the year.

They have superb choreography and cinematography, along with an impressive sense of weight in how the characters move. The music is also well-used in these scenes, something which cannot be said for the rest of the series. Everything is great and the animation is out of this world at times.

When I saw episode 35 of Hunter x Hunter I was not sure what I felt. But I think it was admiration in its purest form.

Then Madhouse re-did the feat in a later episode, once again making my jaw drop to the floor.

Madhouse, you rule.

You make Hunter x Hunter justice.

Maybe you should remake another shounen series too?

Two other great fights

These episodes were fantastic. I still liked the series beforehand, but there was definitely an improvement in overall quality even after these episodes aired. I seriously hope Greed Island can continue the trend.

When Gon lands that one, brief punch, I couldn’t help but stare blankly in the silence and let out a roaring round of applause.
