Sword Art Online #22 – Failcest

SwordArtOnlineEp22Pic02

The episode started here. Take a guess where it ended.

AnimeVikingAuthorIconMyst01Myst: Progression of the plot is clearly of low importance for Sword Art Online as the show has become increasingly stagnated within recent episodes. Continue reading

Sword Art Online #21 – 10 Things Better Than Saving Your E-Waifu

SwordArtOnlineEp21Endcard

Really, Sword Art Online?

Note: A few things came up, so Myst was not able to write anything this week. If everything works, he will be back next week!

AnimeVikingAuthorIconMarow01Marow: So here are ten better things than saving your e-waifu according to Sword Art Online.

Saving her from what?

Goddamn tentacles. Continue reading

Sword Art Online #20 – Alfheim Online, World-building, Pain and Harem

Boy, dis gon be gud.

Marow: For an arc that is about saving Asuna as fast as possible, Alfheim Online sure likes to ignore the rescue mission and instead focus on fleshing out its world. This week it took the form of saving a meeting between two territory leaders, something that surely would not be on my to-do list if I had to save my girlfriend from the evil clutches of a pervert. Then again, I am not as busy as Kirito with gathering new members to my personal harem. Continue reading

Sword Art Online #19 – Player-driven Adventures

Marow: This post got a bit delayed, to say the least. Originally, this was going to be a colloquium just as the other posts about the Alfheim Online arc of Sword Art Online by Myst and me. However, I believed Myst had written his part so perfectly that I would only make it worse, so I decided to completely let him do it by himself.

Fall 2012 Impressions – “Lacklustre” is the Word

What first seemed to be an exciting anime season turned out to be a fairly lacklustre one. So far even the best series have yet to bring out any “wham” episode. While it may be sort of early into the season, there is no excuse for any of the series to not have some kind of hook that grabs me. Sure, I am interested in them, but I would not call myself excited.

How do you feel about the fall 2012 anime season?

Sword Art Online #16 – Imouto Flavoured Adventures

Myst: A problem with any story arc such as the Alfheim Online arc is that its definite ending leaves little doubt that the protagonist will succeed. This is pretty much the same with any kind of adventure story or any story involving a battle between “good and evil”. The ending to these stories are very often predictable, but what makes them interesting is watching how the characters overcome the challenges in front of them.

Marow & Myst: Sword Art Online #15 – A Colloquium

Some of you readers may remember that I have wanted to do some sort of colloquium with another blogger for quite some time now. I am happy to introduce you to Myst from the blog Through the Frozen Glass, with whom I will blog the fifteenth episode of Sword Art Online. Hopefully you will enjoy it as much we did! And since this is our first time, please provide your thoughts!

Marow: After the last few weeks of utter disappointment and mental torture, it really surprises me that Sword Art Online yet again manages to make me interested, just like it once did with its very first episode. Continue reading
