I like how you expanded on Gigguk’s joke here.
Yeah, not much to say about it that it was a completely unnecessary yet awesome filler that is probably the most famous scene of the whole series.
It’s funny, this post highlights just how little this show has to offer, no deep plot, and little character development, yet it’s an entertaining watch simply because it dares to be different
I didn’t enjoy it as much either, and I’m having a hard time figuring out why when the formula for Nisemonogatari was much the same as the one for Bakemonogatari…
2. The arcs in Bake dealed with supernatural stuff and the conflicts were nicely handled. In Nise the conflicts merely have bits of supernatural to them. Instead it’s human conflicts and they are both resolved in the same dull and anticlimactic way.
3. Due to the slower pacing, the dialogue suffered a lot because it lacked any meaning besides talking for the sake of talking. In Bake they talked while doing something, in Nise they talk, talk, talk and THEN do something.
4. Sure, Bake had its moments of fanservice, but Nise had much more. Along with point 1 and 3, it only made it seems worse than it was.
To avoid writing ANOTHER long essay (and I could) on why the 2nd season of the Gatari series (aka the glorified softcore hentai) is my pick of worst show of 2012 I’ve seen, I’ll sum it all up in one sentence: Gokujyo’s more realistic usage of an electric toothbrush for orgasmic reasons was more amusing and believable than the crock we got here.
Heck, the only softcore scene that was amusing was ero twister…because it had Sengoku in it and seeing an initially innocent soul turn into a “Hostess frosting” hungry siren was somewhat hilarious.
I won’t fall for your trap and amuse you with a long rant that will travel through deaf ears.
Instead: Try as hard as you can to imagine a person who, on rare occasion, actually got really excited to watch a sequel. This person had expectations, possibly a superior or equal sequel. Instead he got something so disappointing, he would rather watch Seikon no Quaser season 1 uncensored, without skipping to the Queen and her slave scenes.
That’s all you’re getting from me. I am tired of ranting on this show. So very tired.

Took me a while to get who Gigguk was 😛
This is probably the best scene in the whole series. It also showcases everything that is wrong with this sequel, sadly (a whole episode on this?!).
Not a fan of this scene then?
I want to try it myself.
The boyfriend would probably ram the toothbrush in too far and trigger my gag reflex…
I doubt it would be as glamorous(?) as in Nisemonogatari!
EDIT: Just read your response above

Pretty much, although I found this season painfully slow.

Personally, these are my problems:
1. It’s basically only two, dragging, arcs.
2. The arcs in Bake dealed with supernatural stuff and the conflicts were nicely handled. In Nise the conflicts merely have bits of supernatural to them. Instead it’s human conflicts and they are both resolved in the same dull and anticlimactic way.

So… it’s bad because another series made one scene better?

I see where you’re coming from.
Everybody’s posting the toothbrush scene.. lol :p
Of course, haha! It’s memorable 🙂
